Should you have any specific queries that have not been answered below, please contact Ms Flack at aflack@oakspark.redbridge.sch.uk. Emails will be responded to as soon as possible.

Is there a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the school?

Yes there is a confirmed case. The school has sent out key information by letter. However, for data protection reasons the school is unable to provide more information than this at this time.

Does my child need to self isolate?

Students under the age of 18 years and 6 months do not need to isolate if they come into close contact with someone who has Covid-19. If your child is identified as a close contact, then they will receive a letter from the school asking them to book a PCR test.

What are the symptoms for COVID-19?

  • A high temperature (over 37.8)
  • A new persistent cough
  • A loss of taste or smell

Should you have any of the following symptoms, you must be taken for a test as soon as possible. To book a test, they must go to this link. The whole household (including siblings) must self-isolate. Please contact the school absence line to report this to the school.

Where can I go for a test?

A test can be booked online at the link above. However, should there be no appointments, there are a limited number of appointments at:

Mildmay Testing Centre
The test centre is located in Mildmay Car Park, next to the VHP Hindu Mandir, and opposite Ilford Islamic Centre.
Mildmay Car Park
1 Mildmay Rd

Open seven days a week from 8am to 8pm.

The school has been advised that you should go as early as possible to try and get seen. Should you require a letter, please contact Student Services to receive support for this.

Should you still not be able to secure a test, please contact Ms Flack who may be able to offer some additional support (however, please ensure that parents have tried online, requested a home testing kit, calling, and walk in centres first).

What do I do with the results?

Please send the results to aflack@oakspark.redbridge.sch.uk. Once this has been sent in and is negative, all children are able to return to school the next day assuming that they are well. If positive, the school has a procedure to follow and will be in contact. However, the whole family should continue to self-isolate.

Should my child attend school?

Unless your child is ill, has COVID-19 symptoms, or has been asked by the school to self-isolate then they should attend school.

How does my child keep up with their learning when they are self-isolating?

All google classrooms are being kept up with the latest learning and so this should be used. If there is a concern, please contact the class teacher who will be able to support with this.

What safety measures are in place in school?

The school has a number of safety measures that are remaining in place including zones at social time, staggered exits and some one way systems to support students. The school’s risk assessment has all of the details for the latest safety measures.
